....... jewel of the East ? .................. my arse ! This city had been a Western strong hold while all around repression &
political tyranny roared Bp enjoyed some what of a spree as all of the residents of the closed former East Europe flocked here to shop for necessities such as Levis & Wine. Otherwise people from all over frolicked at the lake Balaton (the biggest pond In the world). In earlier times things were fairly hairy around here. Of course everybody wanted some so they raped, robbed & pillaged, as one did in those times. One Attila the Hun roamed the area making short work of any one misfortunate enough to bump into his lot. He was in fact not the Hun as in the Hungarian. However the locals do take pride in his historical connections with them, & feel quite amazed to even be here......

In actual fact the best thing that ever happened to this city was getting invaded by the Turks. I wish no disrespect to any people who suffered this bloody time,

but it could have been worse. It could have the bloody Brits that invaded & I can say with absolute certainty that they wouldn't have left behind them, those wonderful baths………
