Hi, Sorry this city was left unfinished for this year, this is far as we got..........................

.... ... ,,,, ... ,,,, ..

My Istanbul is under construction at the moment and open to suggestion. Email me here or go .............................................................. Return to my high page ?

We (myself, Eva and Pascal) spent 6 weeks in Istanbul preparing this map. & just before the 'new' gulf war kicked off (& the map bombded).

By all accounts 6 weeks is a long and hectic time to spend in this city. I would say a week ......... or two, .. or?? is long enough to spend here. By then you will have seen enough and be comfortably numb! Istanbul is huge and most of it could be likened to the Bronx!!! You will not be left alone for as much as one minute, there is no escape!!! The intensity, vastness and pace of this city cannot be likened to any other in Europe (thank's be to Jasus!) You will enjoy the shopping, if you don't mind being bought and sold yourself! The Bosphorus cruise is a very pleasant must do. The bath I have recommended is also quite a thing. Taxim town holds the most decadent and extreme night life available in Europe (just be very careful of your life and wallet!!!) The Turks are renowned for their hospitality, although there is almost always something for sale at the root of it. One piece of advise I would advise, is to bring some thing like a walkman or ear mufflers to protect your senses and give you cause not to answer from where you are 1000 times a day. If you do get caught, tell them I told you to tell them you are from "the pussy!!" Another thing you may be surprised by is the medium quality and the higher prices. Everything except duds and footwear is just that little bit more expensive than you might think it should be. Finally my dears, when crossing the street look up, down and all around before setting foot off the pavement (if there is one!).

Here are a few extra links to get you started......This is a nice site with all sorts of good info

This site should add to what I have all ready said regarding accomodation.

For now This is how the map is shaping up like.................................typa thing, like! We should have it all finished in mid April....Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.
