Holesovice is most probably where you will first arrive into if you come by train. There is quite a bit to see and do around here. The Paegus arena hosts many big gigs and shows as well as the big ice hockey rink. Then there is Vista Vista with a fair ground & the marvellous dancing fountains in the Czech version of the TazMahal (or how ever its spealed). Stromovka Park is nice for a walk or roller blade'ing & leads all the way back to the zoo. Also many good local pubs around & the immense flee market for all things for all consumers & conesuers of the bazaar.......... &

Nove Mesto, the New town. Bigger and more modern as it was built up after the Old Town it became known as New Town. The National museum and St Wenceslas Sq (patron saint of Czech and the one who first looked out on a Christmas eve, la la) are the central points and it seems that everything is possible and probable around here. The main train station also a heavy place and a little shocking upon first arrival, so mind yourself around here. For now is the time to remind yourself that this is a real city. Otherwise the area is really nice and packed with good stuff to do and see, of course depending on your interests and how you like to do things. He and his band of nasty mottha's showed up after the murder of reformist preacher Jan Hus at the hands of………yes you guessed it the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Well Zizka did not only knock seven shades of shite out of them but also managed to topple the whole power infrastructure of the Empire and therefore entire power structures all over the continent. More balls to him, I say! So his majestic monument over looks the area and in its own way the disorder and energy of the Zizkov area jump up towards him. If you tried to visit all the good pubs and clubs in Zizkov that would be the last of you. So have fun!
